September 2012 Just to preface, my dobermans are working line, they do protection work, specifically Schutzhund.  Just so people don't get their panties in a bunch.

What's funny about this is that my brown female dobie was sent to the breeder I got her from to do a breeding with another male that's from her line.  The "idea" is because she's such a stable female that works in all drives, defense, prey, aggression and her temperament since I've had her is awesome, she loves kids, adults, other dogs and bites like vise.  And the male they want to breed to her is over the top in aggression, and prey and since the female provides 60% of the input into the puppies it sounded like a great mix.

Here's the problem.  She came into heat the other day and wanted to have NOTHING to do with him, which is not normal.  So they did invitro as a long shot. 

Here's the question.  For the past year her and my male, who's excellent, but from different lines have been hanging out.  Not together, but from the other side of the kennel fence and wire crate, but they're never together to hang out.  I will catch her sticking her rear end against the crate for my male to check out and he does check it out and she lets him. 

So after I made this video I heard the news that she wasn't interested in this male at all and I though to myself, maybe she's in doggy love with my male.  Dunno, but when she left about two weeks ago my male would whine and cry and sit in her crate.  He still does it as a matter of fact. 

What do you folks say, can dogs fall in love?

On a side note can you have cropped tails and ears in England?
