why would they in january, they got some good young players like cleverly who looks 10 times the player rodwell is, just another example of players over taking rodwell, cleverlys in england team now, why rodwell still struggling in the u21s, the list of young players leaving rodwell behind is endless, even spearing the rs looks a much better prospect lol.

Yeah but the problem is Rodwell plays for Everton and not good enough for England. If rodwell was at UTD he would be in the team.

tell me who would he replace in the utd team, never mind england team, he would be reserve at best and not get in england squad

Sorry i did not mean to imply he should be in the England team. More to the effect it is harder for him to get in to the England team due to him being an Everton player. If he played for UTD it would be easier for him. He could be involved more in the team and in europe. Not saying he would stroll in to the team either.

"Manchester United are looking to make an earlier approach for their long term target Jack Rodwell after the injury to Anderson. With Anderson ruled out for two months, Sir Alex Ferguson will turn his attentions to Jack Rodwell who he has long been an admirer of and many pundits expected a bid from the current Premier League champions in the summer however with the injury to Anderson, Ferguson could bring in Rodwell earlier though he will expect to pay a higher fee.David Moyes has conceded in recent times that Rodwell will not always remain at Everton however Moyes will look to a similar deal that saw Wayne Rooney leave for Manchester United for Goodison Park and a fee believed to be in the region of £33million would proof hard to turn down.Rodwell has impressed in his last two seasons at Everton and has broken into the England senior squad as has impressed national coach Fabio Capello."

Interesting reading the negativity back in September. I also felt he had gone of the boil but has proved us all wrong. I would not say he has gone from zero to hero and would not be disappointed if we got GDP 25mill +.

Rate him but where our club is right now and with Felliani signing a new deal would cash in.

By selling him and getting a good income would hopefully force Moyes to play a more creative player next to Felliani.

strange how everyone is knocking rodders yet if he goes he'll then probably be slated as a glory hunter/money grabber...

and the club subsequently slated as a "selling club" ??

well he has been pretty poor after the massive expectations, so people will have a pop , hes improved gradually this season and was hoping the confidence gained from his 2 international games would help him improve more with us. still early days lets see what he can do when hes back from injury , lets hope its not the start of another stop start season for rodwell with injuries and we dont see the best of him, hes pretty injury prone really isnt he.

I hope not because Arteta left without abuse and quite rightly eventhough he asked for a Transfer in the end. Rodwell has always behave properly and if he is offered the chance to move on for a price that suits Everton then again it will be good business for both parties.

I rate him and believe he will become a great player but in our situation we cannot afford to wait. If he stays then I am sure we will get a good season out of him but until we get an investor to compete with the big clubs we have to be a selling club like most the Prem clubs. I just hope that through all the good young talent plus the budget buys of Moyes we can hold on to a completing squad until the rules change or investors come a long.

I think the rodwell transfer rumors have died down since the arrival of another young man called barkley came along.

i think rodwells played well for most of this season..unfortunately injured again..so another break i his season..this is what caused his lack of form last season....he just couldn't get going and put a run of performances together...stop start ..stop start...

fellaini rodwell barkeley drenthe coleman osman...all good young midfielders

not at all.....Rodwell was plss poor last seaon (he's pretty much admitted that himself now).......he then started this season poorly aswell (not just with Everton, but was poor for the England U-21's aswell)...this thread was from september......so anyone who was praising him back then wasn't watching him play....there was alot of hype around Jack, and he wasn't coming even close to justifying it.......since september he's been improving.......for the sake of the club lets hope it continues and the hype machine goes into overdrive, cause our club badly needs a big transfer fee for him.....

as stated previously " he was pisspoor" because of all the injuries which put paid to a good run in the team...which in turn meant he couldn't get any form at all...

as for a big transfer fee i would rather prefer to keep him and help everton benefit from his ability than someone else...

Yes i agree the injuries didn't help......but the facts were he wasn't playing well, so it would have been wrong at the time to say he looks like a £20m player....and ofcourse the hype was none of his doing, but that was the situation as i saw it......
