Anyone got an idea who is gonna play left back until Baines is back?

I think they will play Distin there with Heitinga in Centre as I don't see any other options (unless they risk Drenthe there on his first game!)

    because he isn't left footed

Moyes has a perverted idea that left footers are best left side of central defence regardless of talent

MB, theres a few managers that are the same tbf, they have this strange notion to play on the left side of central defense you need to be left footed, John Terry plays left side but he is right footed, my understanding is that he prefers it that way. I think to be most affective though, regardless of which foot you use, you do need to have played LCB for a good while to be used to it.

think he also likes having a guy with at the back to deal with crosses and seeing as Distin is 6'3" + and Heitinga is about 5'11". Plus Distin was one of our most consistent performers last season and someone did point out yesterday that the dutch defence isn't exactly the strongest in world football so get off Distin and Moyes' back over it.

I'd imagine that it will be Neville left back and Hibbert right back in the next game.

I agree with this. Neville has more then enough experience at left back. And I'd go for Hibbo ahead of Heitinga at right back (yes I know I said his name correctly)

not hibbert ffs, give one of the young left backs a game bidwell or garbutt, bidwell played in europa league 2 seasons ago surely hes ready for a start, give him a chance the rs threw in 2 youth team full backs last season, were going to have to find out if they can step up eventually, dont want to see hibbert and neville at fullback, neville ok but not both. we been going on about our good young players, give em a game ffs, sooner see bidwell starting than hibbert with his poor delivery , abject positional play, and terrible passing, bored of it now. dont wanna read same thing after game on saturday on here of how hibbert was terrible etc etc zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, want to see bidwell had a decent game showed a lot of promise etc etc, give us something positive to talk about, not same old hibbert nonesense

Hibbo is the experienced replacement. I don't think we should throw another youngster in against Villa because it could cost us dearly. Especially due to the fact were will be trying new boys as well.

yeh ok and lets all wait for the usual hibbert shoite posts on saturday, totally baffles me this forum, go on about how crap hibbert is , but people would sooner play a totally abject player instead of a promising youngster, just as much chance of hibbert fooking up than a youngster. throw another youngster in, we only really got barkley playing , cant include rodwell as hes been knocking around for 3 seasons. if 3 seasoned pros like jagielka , disten and neville cant help a decent kid through a game , then we got no chance, cant win anything with kids can you.

because distin is a better centre half-we should have sold heitinga he is a liability in midfield and isnt suited to the premier league at all!!!!!!!

    Also our defence would be:

    Baines 5'7" Jagielka 5'11" Sheitinga 5'11" Neville 5'11"

We would vulnerable against tall players. And Also Distin is so much better the Heitinga. Distin has better positional sense, he stronger, faster and a better tackler. Distin is so strong and fast and consistent I don't think we can drop him.

Neville will play at LB without a doubt.
