Posts: 5,471September 2011 started as captain for u21s, taken off at half time trailing 1-0 replaced bylansbury, lol report said landsbury looked more impressive and involved in forst 5 minutes than rodwell did for 45 minutes, christ would hope he could at least shine vs israel u21s instead had a very poor game according to reports, a positive tho barkley played for 72 minutes and was very impressive england won 4-1, and were hoping jack may be the answer after the sale of arteta, yet hes being over took already by players in the u21 set up, hardly inspiring is it.

Posts: 4,765September 2011 Unfortunetly Rodwell seems to get worse and worse. When he was a bit younger I only thought he could get better and better.

His position is centre midfield, he just isn't always played in that position. He isn't a right midfielder and he isn't a centre back. -

Posts: 5,471September 2011 he always plays in centre for england and last 2 games he been up against poor opposition yet struggled,if he cant gain any confidence in these games which england have won easy then its a big problem when up against good prem players, really beginning to wonder how all the hype started, hes average at best, look at players who have come on the scene of late, hes probably the most experienced player within the u21 set up yet is looking out of his depth whatever level he plays at.

Posts: 5,471September 2011 another thought, maybe he picked up a knock early and struggled and why he was withdrawn at half time, think he needs time on bench would sooner see ossie given centre mid role or even heitenga as much as i dont like him there, maybe he can give felli more licence to push on, if its a confidence thing maybe the subs bench best thing for now, maybe he just needs something too restart his career which has stalled, been to many good things said about him and not just within everton im sure he can bounce back.

Posts: 12September 2011 He needs to play games. Same thing happening to him that has happened to Bily imo. There's no way that you can be expected to perform well when you haven't been given regular games back to back. I'm not saying he's as good as he used to be, not by a long shot shot, but with playing time I reckon he'll start performing again. However, can we afford to play an out of form player ahead of others?
