So.....who needs foreign ownership?

In the light of what has happened recently.....a shrewd manager with an eye (or his scouts).....

Would you really want our club to change to the extent that you no longer identified with it & it's objectives? Because the new owners had a different perspective? (i.e. trophies or heads will roll......)

I know where I sit. Moyes has spat in the face of all the monied clubs. Beaten them all. And bought some bargains.

So those who crave the big money coming in......think twice.

To answer our question, Man City and Chelsea.......with out it, they wouldn't be where they are. EVER.

I am not sure what you are referring to but I am happy to have an owner that cares for the club as a footboll club and not a toy to impress with. Like Malaga that got a new owner that invested a lot of money just to get bored after a couple of year and withdraw. I am happy that we are a a club that compete on, more or less, sound financial basis and not like City have a wage bill that is more than you get as an income for the year. Too me it is the people's club that makes me a proud Evertonian, not sure I would be so proud if we became a new City.

My point exactly. Would we still be the 'People's Club'? And would we win anything?

As I've stated previously, Man City won the league via us drawing with Man Utd. Very tight end to the season given the millions spent on each team.

They're both like England - a bunch of expensive players who don't make a team.

Give me Everton any day. And especially this season..........

See comment above re Man City.

Chelsea beat a **** Liverpool side in the FA Cup Final that we should have.

CL - OK in fairness 'twas a penalty shoot out. So could have gone either way.

Will be interesting to see what will happen when the UEFA financial fair play will come in to action. Isn't it from this season with the impact that clubs that not comply will not be able to play in Europe next season?

Ah..... Sorry..... Misunderstood. Dear Lord please don't let me be.

I seriously don't get it when I read some of the stuff on here. We have bugger all money & yet we still end up in the top end of the table & but for an unfortunate mistake could have contested the FA Cup Final. With a lesser team than we have this season.

SO many reasons to be cheerful - Part 1

I assume that Chelsea and Man City have figured a way round it, or are happy to play chicken with UEFA, I dread to think what the former's loss will be this year.

I think it's still a year or two till they are subject to sanctions (which I bet will just be a fine, into UEFA coffers).

As for foreign owners, I am really not sure I want it. Who else has a fan in charge in the premier league?

Besides, having seen what happens to City fans, I don't want us to become like that.

    Extracts from Wikipedia

"Despite broad approval across Europe, in early 2010, the European Club Association succeeded in delaying the full introduction of the FFP Regulations to give clubs more time to adjust. The original timescale was lengthened, with a phased implementation over five years meaning that the full rules will apply in 2015 instead of 2012."

"Football clubs wishing to take part in the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League must balance their football-related expenditure over a three-year period up to the 2014–15 season."

"The 2011–12 season is the first season which counts towards the 2014–15 assessment. Clubs, however, will be allowed to make a loss of €45 million (£39.4 million) over the three years"

"From 2013-14 UEFA will be able to ban clubs from playing in European competitions the following season if the rules have not been met but it is not until 2018 that clubs will be expected to bring their annual losses below £8.8 million (based on 2010 exchange rates)"

Isn't there some leeway for clubs going in the right direction, getting the deficit down? Maybe this is why City blew so much last year, less this.

I'm happy that we're able to be somewhat competitive with what little money we have. But at times you just think that if we had that bit more money or at least the amounts some of the clubs around us spend, then Moyes could work wonders for this club more than he has already, we'd be right up there easily with a bit more to spend.

Kenwright is NOT Everton! 'ow many times yer need to be told?

One change I would like t' see, after 13 years,is managemen' addressin' the stadium issue an puttin' some sort of a plan in place. With 2/3 billionaires on the board why d'yer think this is?
Btw runnin' a foo'ball club with the aim o' winnin trophies is wha' we should be abar.

Wow, that was sure hard to read Diggernaut! I'm struggling with the reference to Mr Kenwright but the issue of the ground is a doozy of a problem. I agree with Sheila but I'm sure those board members will be backing Mr Moyes when it comes to facilities and such.

Thde man city owners pay a huge fee to endorse the stadium i.e the etihad.

this then reduces their loss from the man city plc
