Helllo folks. Im sure this has been mentioned before but ive been without net for a while.

I really wanna hear your views not just about Artetas timing but players in general. After watching the Sky video of Mikky, i could see the sincerity in him and of course wish him all the best he has been great for us BUT....

Why wait till the last miute? He wouldve known or a while he wanted to leave. Instead he forces Moyes` hand and we probably lose a lot of cash coz of the rush. If he had just said that to DM at the begining of the market then we couldve got more cash and had time for a replacement. I just dont understand it. He says he loves the club and we are like family but then does that !......Someone please explain...

    cheers

PS....I really dont like the new layout of the Blueroom

Think some of the timing is down to Arsenal. You saw what its like, on the last few hours of deadline day suddenly everyone starts buying players and with no time to negotiate fee's if they actually want it to happen they have to accept it or keep a player that may want to go.

I agree though that Arteta should have informed the management at an earlier time that if Arsenal or a club offering similar money and oppertunities came in that he'd like to go.

Maybe I'm being to kind to him but, maybe it took him a while to reach a decision of whether he actually wanted to go and only once a bid came in did he really have to try and make a decision because as he's said he feels Everton is his family and after six years it must have been a tough choice to make.

I suppose only the player and the Club can explain what happened and I agree, the timing couldn't have been any worse. I avoided reading any transfer news up until the last day so was surprised and pleased to hear we had rejected £10 mill.from the Ar$e.Then at around 09.30pm I was totally shocked to hear the deal was back on! According to some the reason the first offer was rejected was purely down to personal terms and in the end  he took a 20 grand a week pay cut to join, thus forcing the Club to accept a measly offer from a cash-rich club.

At the end of the day he has done what any other player would and put his own interests ahead of the club, they all eventually  become mercenaries and us mugs believe all the badge-kissing and all the cr@p spouted in interviews about being a family club blah,blah.etc.etc.

I agree with you on the layout too, it feels 'closed' somehow, less open than the old style which is why I haven't posted on here for ages now.I wish I'd chosen a different user-name too!

Current form, but if he now regains his form, people will be gutted to see we only got in 10m for him

The thing I dont understand is, we were holding all of the cards on this one.  we didnt have to sell arteta, but arsenal needed him. and moyes knew they had around 40m of fabregas and nasri money, yet accepted 10m

If arteta wanted to leave fair enough, but that doesent explain why moyes didnt push the price up.  So late in he day wenger would of have been forced to accept it.  you couold see how happy the arsenal fans were with the signing of arteta, Without hiom there would of been uproar and the fans would of had a right go at wenger for not signing anyone.

Last season he was rated around 25m, 1 bad season means people are happy with 10m???  Doesent seem like a moyes transfer at all.

although he has been losing it lately,  pienaar left far too late and we only got 3m, we had a great offer for the yak last season from west ham but moyes said no, and now arteta.

You were moaning he was getting old only a few weeks ago, and that our players arnt worth anything, now we have just sold a nearly 30 year old for 10million.

Arsenal made an offer, Everton didnt want to sell, Arteta asked Moyes if he could leave, Moyes said i stopped you leaving last year, if its what you really want you can go with my blessing, i can understand you wanting to play CL football. It was all very amicable, and that came fom Arteta himself.

Is he worth 20million this summer, after his from of the last 18months and getting towards 30, i dont think so. And with add ons it could easily run up to 12 million. Some peopel are jsut never happy.
