Definitely need another striker even if they're on loan. If Jelavic gets injured we've only got Vellios, Anichebe and Mirallas but I see him more as a winger at the moment.

Lets look at each position and then members of the squad we have in them
    GK: Howard, Mucha,
    RB: Neville, Hibbert,
    CB: Jagielka, Distin, Heitinga
    LB: Baines
    DM: Gibson, Neville, Fellaini
    CM: Osman, Gibson Neville, Fellaini
    LM/LW Pienaar, Mirallas, Osman
    RM/RW Naismith, Coleman, Mirallas, Osman
    AM: Mirallas, Naismith, Fellaini, Osman
    ST: Jelavic, Naismith, Mirallas, Anichebe
These are the players that if Moyes has, he will start. The only real headaches come from the 3 centrebacks, 1 of which is getting old and will need to be replaced in the near future. Our right backs are both aging, no complaint about them for me, I think Neville gets a lot of stick from the supporters when he does an alright job at defending. Just because he doesn't attack. Neville will need to be replaced soon as well. Hibbert may have a couple of years left. A new LB could be good to give Baines some competition.

Thanks for saving me a lengthy post! At the very least, Mirallas is a direct goalscoring alternative to Jelavic.

cant stand watching Neville anymore. cant fault his commitment but he is poor...

would love to see a new right back and maybe a loan striker to help Jelly

Young 'uns to reach maturity (and a good resale value, if necessary) as the old guard approach retirement and loans to cover injury risks, then. OK, the squad may be smaller than some other clubs', but we're not made of money and something must give. I would rather risk a few injuries than spend the entire wad on loads of average players. The squad we have is good enough to secure 4th-6th place. I don't see any need to panic. COYB.

    Attacking options:
    OUT:
    Cahill
    Straquilarsi
    Drenthe
    McFadden

    IN:
    Naismith
    Mirallas
Pienaar (who came in January to replace Billy)

She really (unless I’ve forgotten someone) we’re 2 attacking options shorter than last season...and we can't assume yet that Barkley will break into the team this year......

you could easily include Duffy into the center back mix. he is young but performed admirably when called upon. not saying he is a good first option yet but if there is an injury I would feel comfortable with him in there

Duffy should definitely be considered as a player Moyes could trust. Did very well last year when he was called upon
