If we did sign Doyle, I think he would be a good signing for us. Moyes wouldn't sign him to be our number one striker ahead of Jelavic, but he would be a good option to have if Jelavic got injured. Doyle scored regularly for Reading a couple of years ago, and he seems like the sort of player that would fit in well at EFC with his work rate. I wouldn't want us to pay over the odds for him, intact I wouldn't want us to pay more than £4M for him, but if he did sign I think he would be a very good squad player for us.

Doyle is a targe' man..doesn't score too many goals.
He would replace Fellaini no' Jelavic.

I wouldn't mind him signing as a squad player, but he's no better than the first team we are playing at the moment.

when we played 4-5-1 and the fwd had ter run his socks off to win the ball and bring in the midfield he'd have been ideal... but i was hoping we'd moved away from that...

It pains me to say this but I would rather play Victor Anichebe he has a better chance of putting it in the net.

So if Moyes thinks 5 million that's the right price?? You said useful addition for the right price. So you must have a figure in your head as to what you think the right price would be?

Gibson cheap at 500k, as much as i was dubious at the time, i thought half a mill, cant go wrong really. If we paid 5million for Doyle i would think we have had our pants pulled down and objects poked into our bottoms.

I don't rate Anichebe mate I would just prefer him over Doyle considering he is costing us nothing to sit on the bench. Last season when Anichebe came off the bench he scored some crucial goals. I don't rate him at all but signing Doyle I feel would be a step in the wrong direction considering the team we have now.
