on alex ferguson that was 2 years ago, when we aere a completely different team.  As I said we were the 5th best team in the PL back then.  there was the top4, gap then us gap then the rest of the premier league teams.

2 years is a long time in football and the last 2 years havent been great.

He is regarded as one of the best managers in the Premier League.
Present tense - not past tense!

2 years ago we had Pienaar, Arteta and Lescott. we still have all the other first teamers plus Coleman, Heitinga, young players like Barkley and Gueye making a breakthru and the 2 signings last week.

    Not hugely different at all

By the way - 2 years ago we were 1 point ahead of Villa in 6th. Gap?

Still haven't explained how you HAVE TO win something to make a name for yourself as a manager and how that lines up with Bilic taking the Croatia job to "make a name for himself"?

yeah not hugely different.  3 star players leave, and your response is dont worry the youth will come through.

rooney, young and nani all leave "dont worry united fans" welbeck  cleverly and macheda are all coming through.

players will continue to leave here as long as we dont get back into europe, or show ambition.  look at fellaini still stalling on signing a new contract, because we are a "sub top team"

No my response was not "dont worry the youth will come through". That was PART OF my response!

lets end this debate now, if tickets had said DM wont sign a new contract, then he wont, its that simple.

so why hasnt moyes signed a new contract.

he has 2 years left why not sign a fresh 5 year contract, and show he is commited to the future of this club and give the fans something to be happy about

Moyes had a 5 year plan, he said this back 2008, I think he will finish what he started beacuse he said he would and then leave.

You think it is a coincidence that nevilles contract now runs until 2013, the year moyes contract is up,  Dont be surprised if he offers saha and distin a contract up until then either.

I think he will leave as well Tickets, but what do you mean about Neville, Distin and Saha's contracts?

Think he would go if the right post came up, Spurs, Utd, Celtic or anyone with money really. However, it might be right for Everton when he does go, maybe he's gone stale, we're always baffled by some of his decisions, and i would welcome us getting a manager with more of a attacking style, footballing pass n move team. Someone like Poyet might be a bit more refreshing................just a thought

I would be grateful for what he has done for us when he goes, but I would be happy tom give a new manager a chance to prove themselves. I agree that we could do with a manager with a more attacking approach, and a manager that can handle his strikers better.

true Moyes has had some shockers.

yak, beattie, AJ, were all prolific, premier league proven strikers when we signed them, Now look at them.

they all suffered the same fate, 1 good season and then BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!  thats it there finished.

I agree with this, even Beckford was played in a 4 5 1 and that never suited him at all.

Moyes will stay, where else can he go, and he is on 60k a week must be about 3rd or 4th in the premiership wages wise.

I think he is waiting for when ferguson leaves United

So will he sign as it stands now yes he will

It appears if one player in a squad has his contract expiring at the same time as the manager, it's evidence of a conspiracy!

Not two days ago you were claiming Saha will leave at the end of this season when his contract expires. You really are incapable of coherent thought aren't you?

Cant beleive the low IQ of some people on thi forum tht I have to spell everything out.

Moyes contract ends in 2  seasons yes, neville has now signed a contract until 2013, when moyes cont5ract is up.  we all know he isnt a good enough Right back, But this is basically moyes saying rather then get rid of these players, and have no money to brin in any decent replacements, Why not keep what I have for an extra season or 2,

Same with saha, his contract runs out at the end of the season, and we all know due to injuries, and being 33 he isnt gooe enough to be our number 1 striker.  but rather then let him leave for free and not have any money to bring in a suitable replacement, he will ask him to sign another extension.  Same applies with distin.

Now these playes arent good enough, But what choice does moyes have,  how is he going to replace 3 first team payers with virtually nothing...........It cant be done, Hence the stop gap of allowing them a contract extension for 2 main reasons.

    1) less hassle then finding replacements with no money

    2) they sign contracts upto when moyes contract is up, so when the new manager comes in it then become his problem.

I cant beleive the IQ of some of the people here, get back to school and get some qualifications FFS.

    Touched a nerve there?

Qualifications? Don't make me laugh....I can't take you seriously until you demonstrate a basic level of maths and rational discussion.

Perhaps you should go back to school (though I actually doubt you've left yet) and concentrate on basic spelling; from there you could try your hand at the more complicated stuff like forming a credible, consistent argument.

If (according to you) Saha isn't good enough to be our #1 striker NOW....and Distin isn't good enough NOW....and Neville isn't good enough NOW.....how does it only become a new managers problem in 2 years' time?

If he can't replace them coz of no money....what is he supposed to do differently whether he's staying or not?

You were saying something about IQ?
