    Sell him for 12 mil, let Moyes find another gem in the lower divisions for 2m and give 10 to the bank.

    Just joined so hello.

    I wouldn't sell Baines at all, and if Everton did who would we get in as a replacement so quick.

    Not many left-backs could replace Baines, and the ones who could we can't afford.

    Welcome to the Blue Room.  Brace yourself!

    I agree we can't afford a like for like replacement, but maybe a prospect, and more money to spend.  If he wants to go, I think we have to let him.

    I suppose the issue might be, how vital a creative left back is to the team as opposed to more money elsewhere.  If we could get a functional LB, good tackler, hold the line, just solid defence (which is the only area Baines is ever found wanting), and we have a £10 central midfielder.

    Certainly if Baines wants to stay, we should keep him.

    The signings we have made so far are positive, it's better losing Rodwell than losing Baines or Fellaini, but if we lost Baines aswell as Rodwell this summer, I wouldn't be half as confident as I am now.

    It will be really hard to replace Baines, we have money at the moment which is the main thing, but we need to get our depth up instead of losing players, because we need 2-3 more signings, and maybe some loans like we had with Stracqualursi and Drenthe.

    Baines will be impossible to replace so quick, you can't replace such a high profile player like Baines with a panic buy.

    I wholeheartedly agree, and if EPLWarrior is right and he wants to stay, I say we keep him.  Though I would hope Moyes has been scouting a lefy bck for a while, Distin can fill in, and did really well against... was it the Toon end of last season? But he's knocking on, and I don't think we have any others, do we?  So we could do with getting a young player in to provide dedicated cover, and grow into the role to replace Baines if he moves on.
