just read an intresting article in the daily mail..fergie is only in charge for another couple of years and wants to build one last great team..and that includes a bid for baines for around about 17 million..if we were offerd that much im sure the club would accept even if most of us wasnt too happy about it!..might be a load of old tosh..but i doubt it! :-(

I'll be controversial here and say take it and buy Aly Sissoko to replace and a rightback plus a right sided midfielder.

I hope that we keep Baines but I assume that David Moyes is anticipating the approach and has a replacement in mind. We would need a player whom is defensively very strong but could also link well with the left side of midfield. Any player can be replaced but Man United have left it late. I would prefer to see us maintaining our existing defence but it will be interesting to see what happens.

If Baines wants to win trophies, it may be time for him to move on, he's 27, pace is a big bit of his game. In the next few years we can rebuild and maybe start to challenge, but Baines would be cutting it fine.

Of course he'd be a huge loss, and we'd struggle to replace him with the same quality, but as has just been demonstrated, Moyes can do wonders with the cash.

If he wants to go to win silverware, he would have my blessing for years of great football.

In my opinion LB is a hard position to replace and that we should do our best to hold on to Baines. And the linking between LB and LAM is very, very good. He has a good understanding with Pienaar.

Therefore, unless the bid is too good to resist (£20 mil+), then we needn't sell him.

If we sold for 17m we could get that Oviedo and have 10+ million to the bank. Id rather keep Baines though anyday

Man Utd can get lost, they have Evra he is capable of playing out one or two more season's.

I agree with everything robotx597 has said.

I wouldn't sell Baines for at least £20 million.

i wouldnt turn down 17 mill (upfront in cah) for baines.  we was linked with a left back a few months ago but i can't remember his name.  anyway i've seen him play in the champions leauge and he is class.  deffo could replace baines and would cost less than 10 mil
