    Men have come and gone.
Money worries have been dampened - transfer fees, savings on wages.
Young prodigies willing to do what it takes to fill voids.
I am starting to think, why can't we succeed this season.
    Europe? Why not.
    We can do it.
We all know how much our backing spurs on our boys.
Lets show them how much we love THE PEOPLES CLUB.
    Home AND away.
Don't blame DM or BK, they DO try their best.
No team is perfect, but to us they should be, regardless of how good or bad the game was.

Totally agree,We are Everton fans/supporters and we have to do our part. If we don't have money then we can hardly blame anyone for not spending what we haven't got. Let's get behind the team and surprise the critics again. A top 10 finish and Wembley in The Carling Cup and Europe next year.

has our situation really undergone a major change in the last week?  i dont think so.

moysey has to wheel and deal to get new players. he may not have liked to sell arteta, but when a player hands in a transfer request its best to get him out asap.

what about the squad we've got? its still one of the best. on our day we can beat any team in the league.

will these new guys work out? lets be optimistic. it doesnt cost anymore than being pessimistic and moysey has a pretty good track record for picking up bargains. also we've got ten days to get them into the squad.

we go into the international break with a win under out belts and we have a game in hand over the rest of the epl, except spurs.

our next match is at home to villa on saturday. if we can get another 3 points out of that we will be riding high.

    COYB.

"I'm liking all of these positive comments. I'm tired of all of the negativity. Let's Go Blues!"

too much politics and not enough football on the site at the moment. who are these guys who keep starting threads on topics like the B.U.?

how many threads do you need to have about a bunch of plonkers.

the mods should merge them into one or maybe two at most.

    I disagree

Plenty of BU supporters have been here posting but soon leave with their tales between their legs.

theyve screwed EFC good and proper. and most of 'em claim not to recognise it.

    """As
well as being blatantly dishonest its a disgrace to attend a private meeting
and then release a tape of it to the media. Blue Union have done immense harm
to EFC. It will undermine the teams confidence, make it harder to keep our best
players, [artetas already gone] and make it easier for poachers to take
advantage by making cut price offers for our players, who may now want a
transfer. EFC is in the same boat as the majority of Premier League clubs, and
if it wasnt for the dedication of BK and the talent of DM we would
have disappeared down the plug hole seasons ago. Blue Union have now
    made this more likely.""

I'll always remember the amusing chant from Sunderland fans when they went 1.0 up at Goodison, and We suddenly started getting behind our team after a VERY Quiet opening. It DOES go Very Quiet during games, we should Really get behind the Lads and show WE can PLAY for 100mins too??

Plenty to be positive about - great manager, squad the envy of most prem clubs.  The Board are stauch supporters of the club too,  but it is hard to avoid the conclusion that they are completely failing in their responsibility to effectively manage the clubs finances and support the manager building an even better squad.  They have to go then there would be much more to be positive amount and much more to look forward to in the future.

I'm sure the board are trying to do the right things, but I wince every time we issue a press release. We seem to characterise ourselves as the open, straight talking club - a noble line to take - but wholly ineffective if it is at the expense of shrewdness, guile and appropriate commercial ruthlessness.

Just one example, but this morning I read:

"Everton Football Club is for sale, despite accusations to the contrary. This has been the case for three years and it will remain the case until such time as someone is found with the finances capable of ensuring we can compete at the very highest level of the game both at home and in Europe."

It doesn't matter what you're selling, if you tell the world you've been trying to sell it for three years, without success, it makes the offering look less attractive. It begs the question "Why?". It's a stone cold fact! We'd be better off saying that we'd been concentrating on club infrastructure, or restructuring finances, or anything other than this. When it comes to PR there is nobody more naive than us in the premiership. We just tell the truth, regardless of how it makes us look. You can bet your life the Red Scum never sell themselves short - they'd lie about mystery interested parties - and they'd be bloody right to do so, the same as everyone else is.

Football turned from a sport into a business decades ago - and businesses compete on every front, not just including, but with increasing emphasis on Public Relations. For God's sake, the president of the USA was picked on PR, it dominates our politics every day, it's colloquially called spin, blagging, presentation, and there isn't a successful organisation out there that doesn't recognise it's importance in the modern competitive marketplace. Even bloody charities do it - so why don't we?

We need to grow up commercially. There is a commercial cost to this naivety that loses us opportunities and ultimately has a £ sign attached to it. If we want to be puritanical, can we do it after we've secured our future success, because nobody else is playing by our rules!?!
