Charlie Adam for 5mill, anyone?

    Daily Mirror: "Liverpool will sell Charlie Adam for a knockdown £5million - and Everton boss David Moyes is poised to make a sensational move for him.

    Scotland midfielder Adam is being offered around behind the scenes because he will not be a starter under new Kop boss Brendan Rodgers, just a year after predecessor Kenny Dalglish bought him from Blackpool for £9m.

    The fee is being flashed to other clubs and Moyes is keen to land the midfield maestro at the second attempt.

    Moyes wanted his fellow Scot before he was priced out of his range and still rates the former Rangers schemer highly - although he is looking into the potential pitfalls of buying Adam.

    It is very rare for a Liverpool player to be sold directly to Everton - Gary Ablett was the last, 20 years ago - and it would be a major issue for any deal.

    Moyes has been sounding out confidantes about the potential public reaction."

    The only way he could endear himself would be via hard work, skill or a derby hat trick. We have plenty of hard workers, he's not that skillful and i'd rather Big Vic got a derby HT than him. It would always be seen as a step down, even though we were a step above last season and i can't be bothered defending the whole thing over and over.

    We don't really need him though. He can't tackle worth a damn and I'd rather see Barkley or anyone else given the role of "midfield maestro" ahead of him.

    Wouldn't be a bad move. We all know Liverpool ruin decent players and plenty of top teams were after him before he signed for them. I don't see where he will fit in though.

    Attach razor blades to the backs of his hands and have him run round the pitch all day, Monday to Friday. His transfer fee will just be exceeded by the savings in lawnmower purchases. This is how I would justify his signing to the board of directors.

    100% BS. I think we have other priorities, we have fellaini, Gibson, osman, Barkley, francisco that play CM and Neville, pienaar and heitinga can cover at a push

    He looks like he's been on the ale all his life too.  Decent technique, looked good at Blackpool, but was a liability for the RS, his tacking is woeful! He needs to be ahead of the midfield, so we then play him instead of Barkley, Naismith, Fellaini, Moralles possibly, Osman who are all competing for that position

    I wouldn't take him for free. Had his chance to come here and didn't, so glad that was the case. Mid table team midfielder at best.
