cjohno said:weve sold our 1 player to keep the banks happy :) next year it will probably be barkley or felliani

cjohno said:well i cant see felli being here in 2 years if he continues to improve, he will attract a lot of interest from top sides and not a chance in a million years he will be an everton player in 2 seasons if he is then hes gone backwards and nobody wants him

I think it confirms that we shouldn't be looking for anything less than £20-£25m for Baines.

Jxg said:Sadly that is true. However this season we shouldn't need to sell anyone.
What I don't understand is the fact that our debt is escalating. We at one point owed £20m to banks, but now its risen to £40m and supposedly almost £50m. We sell players and give a large chunk of it to the bank; shouldn't that reduce the debt? I seem to remember the report from Robert Earl saying that we lost about £5m each year. If that's the case then the entire board should be sacked because we're doing something horribly wrong. If they are taking even a penny out from the club at this stage then we should be calling for their heads because if they are then they are the reason the club is falling backwards.
Oh God, I feel myself slipping back into the "Kenwright out" phase again. :O

Ever heard of things like compound interest, escalating operating costs, soaring wage bills ? People on here scream blue murder that we don't pay higher wages to attract and retain the best players then when we do secure a player on a long term contract with competitive wages they scream that the board are driving the debt higher.

One question Andy, how do you know how much we got for Rodwell ? ..... thought as much, you dont
-----------------
escla said:No need for the rhetoric Andy, a simple "you are right I don't know" would have sufficed.
-----------------
escla said:Your figure was based on pure rumour, gossip, speculation i.e plucked from thin air.

AndyForsyth said:No, I felt that I should explain where I got the figure from, to show that it wasn't just plucked from the air.
