Increasing Income to Allow Expansion

We have reduced some major overheads this last few days and with possible sale of Yobo by next monday (i think its their deadline) we will have reduced it a little more. No idea how much our two loanees will be asking in wages but it will not be equable to the reduction. Im not going to do the maths as im terrible at it but i reckon roughly we are 80 - 100 k a week better off (this including Yobo's wages). Add that to the cash from sales of players and it's a tidy little sum.

Ideally for me all this cash would pay off debt and bring us some needed breathing room, which however brings me to my question...

If we have any working capital this next year or two is it more sensible for us as a club looking to the future to invest our cash in infrastrucure? I'm thinking along the Arsenal lines here i.e. property or such like, possibly non football related. (i worry pumping money into the old lady might be a bit like **** into the wind).

We need deperately to increase our income and as our board seem unlikely to have any marketing ideas soon (I hear its their department as well "") we need to do something now! Otherwise we will never be able to increase the depth of our team without reducing the standard of players.

So should we take the hit for a year or two. Invest our cash in profit and not player ??

Milky with that as well if we are looking to move what is the point is improving the park end.

    Just a thought.

Parkend was estimated 9 mil and in our current climate im sure that would be more. Although it was supposed to be funded through catering profits or such like. Yes we could go that way but im inclined to look for some external investment to supplement the club. Also if we did (fantasy land here) get a new stadium would we ever re-coup the cash invested in Parkend, I would prefer to see a long term strategy for goodison rather that bit parts from time to time.

We won't be moving for a while

Property is always a valuable asset.

If we were to move the building could still be retained as offices or turned into flats as part of a full re-development of the area.

Somthing else that could be considered is a TV channel like the big 4.

Sky to host the channel with monthly subscriptions. Showing games etc as structured by the previous channels. With contracts supported by both club and programe to release players for interviews. Training proactaces etc. Providing the club with an income.

Could we not split the sponsership on the shirts? One of each kit. Copy Man UTD in sponsership of the training kit. With this i expect to see training vidieos etc being brought out.

With the TV channel being done possibility of showing LIVE games on TV with consent from Sky possible as they could potnetially OWN the channel (yes get a large chunk of the cash but Everton do not have the funds to set up) You could sell virtual sponsership (Putting logos on the TV in the 18Yard areas and Centre Circle.

We do need to look at diverse ways to bring in Extra cash. A lot of these ideas are from Amercia as they currently use these in there events.

Parkend development needs to get finished and a bigger decrease in wages wouldn't hurt. Can't see us moving to a new stadium for many years to be honest.
For those that think this board have done nothing to increase revenue by the way,  you may be interested to know that when Bill took the reigns our turnover was £22.67 with an 18mil overdraft and making a 3mil a year loss:
This year we turned over £79.1mil and still made a loss of 0.5mil, but that was only because of the vast wages we spent (Arteta was on nearly 4mil a year for example)... With the sale of Arteta and co we should actually draw a profit this year and start being able to eat away at the debt we have..

now and again, but teams like utd and liverpool have a world wide market place, we dont really. i dont think a tv station would be so succesful, we need viewers to generate income , i cant see us generating the ammount of viewers to make it succesful.

I feel we underestimate our potential worldwide support, there has to be more avenues to tap it up. T.V is one we fail miserably in, the fiasco over paying to watch free to view pre season matches is one example. If we are going to do it why don't we just do it properly and professionaly. All those matches should have been free on Everton tv, allowing for a broader audience. But promote it for goodness sake. Make people aware!!

    bin silverlight too!

Exactly we do have reaches in to Thailand and USA and Australia. I am sure a large number of English based fased would subscribe to as well.

Milky is down in devon and i bet for £20 a month would subscribe if matches were shown. Thus in theory increasing everton capture.

I hate to say it but Everton TV is a flop. It is not the best and has several problems with it being Internet based. haveing a TV channel supporting this would be better and more productive. Has any one got good exp using Everton TV?????

None I'm afraid. For example, I couldn't watch the Blackburn extended highlights (ha!) until tuesday at the earliest because the video just wouldn't play and this seems to happen time and time again. Now it's free I'm not that fussed but when I used to pay because I'm just that thick, it was highly frustrating and was regularly on the phone to the club wanting answers. The biggest **** up was obviously the philadelphia game which doesn't exactly need explaining. If we can't run an in house online tv station, how the hell we will be able to run a sky based tv channel?

    See that is the beauty.

first this is my first post,,I usually like to read them..some are unbelievable.

I have read posts from a lot of people saying " Everton done good...saved nearly 150k on wages...this will go to the bank..and on that logic why not sell the hole team and save all their wages.

The thing is we sold Arteta, Beckford and Yak losing 10 million on yakubu and we get 2 loans.

A winger and a striker...the trouble is if they turn out great players Everton will not buy them....they will try and negotiate a new loan...and some other team like ..Stoke....will come in and buy.
