No Matter who we know and what people have said about who our new boss is going to be,no one really knows. Im not slating anyone here about their "mate from the inside who said its going to be him" but its time to stop looking at oddschecker cos as I said the other night,and proved by Eddie Howe going from 100/1-12s after a £20 bet, and to reading Portugese websites and waiting for Martinez to resign. It will all come out in the end so lets leave it for a week or two.

Latest interview with Whelan on Granada Sports: he states Martinez has asked for assurances on funding, developing youth policy, squad improvements and so forth. Whelan confident he can give those assurances by next week and is also confident that Martinez will stay.

So that's hopefully the end of that speculation. Only another 99 to go

Porto have already formalized with Vítor Pereira a proposal for a contract extension. The parties were on Wednesday gathered from lunchtime until dinner time, in a hotel in Espinho, and the conversation ended with the presentation of a concrete proposal for renewal.

Now so it fell to the side of Vítor Pereira. As already Maisfutebol noticiara, the coach still portista (has a contract until June 30) has in his possession also two proposals for two clubs in the first half of the Premier League table and so it is up to you now to decide for one of them.

The proposal was submitted by FC Porto presupposes better contractual conditions and greater freedom of decision to the structure portista, which is natural after Vítor Pereira have won two titles in two seasons, the latter of which no defeat. The decision is for days.

It has been a long while since I have chosen to actually write something on the forum. To be honest between work, slave driving and sleeping it is far easier to just read everyone else's views than to actually post anything. (Cue Milky moan)

What I find incredibly interesting is that sky and other betting agencies have got Rafa at 150-1 as a potential new manager of our great club. Say what you will about the guy but look at what he has done, not just in the last 8 months but over his career. He has a house in Liverpool where his wife and kids stay and he has always wanted a club where he can build on and have longevity at and well truth be told, we fit that mould.

Let's look at the facts: If we want our best players to stay and if we want to attract new and better players to the club, we need a manager who players respect and one that is successful not 'bless him' Phil Neville or Ferreira or Martinez... those are; never managed - managed for 2 seasons in a rubbish league - and got relegated and has fought off relegation 3 seasons in a row... FFS really?

For me despite what he has said about the club he (if we are thinking with our heads and not hearts) is the right man for the job. He will keep us where we are and probably improve us. I don't see Martinez doing that or anyone else, other than maybe Mourinho. We want to win things? We want to perform? We want a stronger team? Well if Fellaini does go to the Mancs with Davey then we have a few bob to throw around in the market and potentially be able to sign a few decent players. BUT who will come to us if Martinez or Neville or Stubbs etc is the manager? Let's get serious.

If you want us to move forward then Rafa is the logical choice. And at 150-1 worth a bet.
