Greg O'Keefe on Twitter:

On way to #EFC press conference so can't get involved in a lengthy exchange on Twitter. But to respond to various Tweets RE comments about the ECHO in leaked e-mails.
That may be the view of certain people at the club, but it's not my view.
The Echo always aims to be a critical friend of local clubs, and down the years we've certainly been involved in some robust exchanges with EFC which suggest the club thinks we are much less than readily compliant! We want Everton to succeed - of course we do - but the fans are the people who matter most of all to us - always have, always will.

I have recently moved to Leeds and I'm wondering if there's any blues on here who travel to home games from Leeds and if so how do you get to the game(coach, car, train, etc)

I've got a season ticket so will be travelling to all home games and I'm looking for a way to save a few pennies, as at he minute my plan is to drive

Any help/info would be appreciated

Cheers]]>

All it will be is a insurance policy for more ££££ when the inevitable transfer request comes in

Why would anyone want to play for Everton unless you're a crock or a journeyman  ?

We are no Stoke City thats the kind of team we should aspire to be

I'd be happy if we could get Donovan back to play right mid. I dont know if Seamy is good enough to play RB would like to see him tried. I do think we need a striker. Give Tolos a run to see how he does.

This of course puts a lot on Barkley but I like what I've seen and I'd like to see more.

God I wish something would happen for us, I hope someone sees what an amazing club they could be apart of....

Local rivals Everton are now in search of funds that they need to compete at the highest levels but have to be realistic when valuing the club.

Chief executive Robert Elstone has denied that the Everton board is pricing itself out of reach to potential buyers.

Elstone confirmed there are "genuine conversations" taking place with several groups, companies and individuals regarding an offer for the company, but said that talks remain at an early stage. The club has been linked with several reportedly interested parties, including Indian construction company Jain.

He added:

"What I know to be absolutely the case is the first question asked by us in these discussions is never ‘how much?' but always ‘what are your thoughts, intentions or plans for Everton's future?'.

"I'm tired of saying it but the club is absolutely for sale and has not, and will not, fail to be sold because it's too expensive or comes with onerous conditions.

"We sincerely hope the right buyer, with the right motives, with a commitment to take Everton forward is part of this current dialogue."

Manager David Moyes has worked miracles for the club and while the club runs a tight ship the economics are such that to compete in the Premier League suibstantial funding is required. Lets wish them the best of luck.

Blackburn and Everton are £500m targets for Arab sheikh http://www.evertonfc.com/forum/discussion/2812/blackburn-and-everton-are-500m-targets-for-arab-sheikh Sun, 13 Nov 2011 02:34:02 +0000 Warrington Dan 2812@/forum/discussions
And with £500million to spend, he has fixed his sights on strugglers Everton and Blackburn Rovers.

Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, heir to the throne of Qatar, had been bidding to buy United.

But he decided that the asking price of around £2billion was too much – with Old Trafford’s controlling Glazer family in no mood to do business.

Now People Sport can reveal that the prince’s representatives, both in Qatar and working with influential figures in England, have been investigating Everton and Blackburn as their latest ‘projects’.

The prince’s company already has a major stake in French outfit Paris Saint-Germain and there are family ties with Spanish side Malaga.

Now he wants a Premier League club to buy and stock with stars.

A top Arab source revealed: “The sheikh had his heart set on Manchester Untied, but now he knows he must go elsewhere and find a club – perhaps to prove a point.

“There is a budget set aside to buy a club, but it has to be right. They want to spend most of the money on players to reach the Champions League.

“This is a plan to get Qatar high profile in the best league in the world.

“Although money is no object, they will not be ripped off.”

United’s loss could be a rival club’s gain as the amount of cash being spoken about could transform a smaller club into top-four contenders – and raise the stakes at the summit of the table.Everton are up for sale at the right price, with interest being shown by the Indian-based Jain Group, but the valuation is putting off Al-Thani.

A leading football power broker has been working on the deal in recent weeks, but it is proving a tough nut to crack because the numbers do not appeal to the Arabs.

Bill Kenwright is looking for around £120m for Everton, although that price is negotiable. The Toffees are carrying debts and there will be a massive bill if the buyer wants to build a new ground.

Instead, bizarrely, Blackburn have emerged as an option – with insiders claiming the Qataris have been to Lancashire and India in the past week.

Rovers were bought by the Venky’s Group a year ago, but the Indians have suffered problems – with results on the field and their image off it.

Face

If the Qataris could buy Rovers at the Venky’s purchase price, and inherit their debt, it would leave an unbelievable amount of cash for new players.

However, sources at Ewood Park claim that not even a whacking profit would make the Rao family walk away now.

They have invested heavily in making Blackburn ‘India’s Premier League club’ and they do not want to lose face.

Word of the potential Qatari investor has flashed around football in the past few days, and agents working for other clubs have been trying frantically to court them to find out if they are interested.

As one senior Premier League official said: “This would be Christmas come early and often for someone.

“The big clubs are either not for sale or just not interested.

“But one of the rest of us could get really lucky and come into a fortune at a time when so many are tightening their belts.”

Football fan Sheikh Tamim managed to get his company’s name on Barcelona’s shirts, a remarkable development.

But United proved outside his grasp, with the Glazers refusing to sit down with him.

It is very early days but self confessed Evertonian Gary Speed seems to have shaped up well in dealing with international management and all its foibles.....Speed knows the club, not least being a reliable ex - player....DM was a gamble...young, hungry manager etc etc

Clear blue thinking says fresh manager, hopefully some cash injection and we move on playing a bit of the football the club has previously been associated with...

This is not a Moyes out cry BY ANY MEANS as his job makes the tasks of Hercules seem like a walk in the park.....but..........what thoughts ???]]>

The lads first laughed about it (the majority of Greenlanders are premier league 'top 4' and champions league club fans, rare to see our shirt).
But they know our quality, a chelsea-fan know what the club is about (stamford bridge games). There was more harmony with rs fans (Arteta). Liverpool fans don't care- never disturbed about it. Some asked about the millionaire takeover rumors.

I hope they get a lot more to see their corner flags getting punched, another great late run (starting next sat, fingers crossed) and DM and blue lads being named manager/player of the month. And a great name on a blue shirt in January!

All in all, got blue blood and proud of it, still smiling on the 17th place. coyb. ;)
