Everton Talk http://www.evertonfc.com/forum/categories/everton-talk/p110/feed.rss Thu, 23 May 13 01:05:33 +0100 Everton Talk en-CA David MOYES http://www.evertonfc.com/forum/discussion/4463/david-moyes Sun, 22 Jan 2012 12:50:42 +0000 Shaun26 4463@/forum/discussions As for BK yeah i understand that some fan's are getting very frustrated with the lack of investment at the club, on one hand we need it, but on the other hand is has to be right! Look at blackburn, pompey, bought by "so called" billionaires but destined for diaster! Yes we need investment to compete for the top 6 places but we also need to secure our clubs future and ensure survival. Teams with huge debts are going to be in real trouble in the future.
The truth of the matter is that we are not currently a top 6 side, infact if were honest were not a top 8 side, annoying as it is thats the truth.
MOYES has done a great job and took us as far as he can. Could anyone else come in and take us further?? No. Is there many better managers out there in my oppinion that could replace him and move us forward?? No. You could stick Mourino in and with no funds and an ageing first team he couldnt do any better.

Falling gates over the last couple of seasons hasnt helped the team, is it because of recession and money being tight for everyone or becuase of the poor performances? Abit of both Id say!

We all know what needs to happen, we need investment! Without it it doesnt matter who the chairman is or who the manager is! MOYES and the scouts are clearly doing all they can with no funds. Gibson coming from UTD yet again they have thrown us a good player, thanks to the Fergie-Moyes friendship.

All we can do if keep hoping, stick together and hope that investment will come before we are to far behind the fromt runner's!!

Straq and Drenthe were coming in before Arteta was sold so the club are talking **** and wages would be coverd by Beckfords Yakubus and Vaughens wages anyway.

The Donovan episode, he is a good player but by the time he settles down hes gone again its a waste of time and money. 8 games whats the point, its just a club exercise to get the fans off Kenwrights and Moyes back. We have wingers anyway Billy,Barkley,Coleman, Drenthe loan, we need strikers.

McFadden I think he has touched the ball once so far and seems not to be in Moyes plans so why waste money on him.

Gibson a steady player but not in the same class as Pienaar or Arteta and not better than Cahill, Osman, Rodwell, Barkley, so why sign him. I think he was bought to replace Rodwell when he is sold in Jan or Summer transfer window.

Fellainis on how much? He must be bosting the midfield and getting man of the match rewards on a consistant basis, But thats not true. I do like Fellaini but I dont think he deserved a wage rise and if thats the only reason he signed a new contract, and if thats the case we should of sold him.

Barkleys had a wage increase why not play him, he hasnt been given a chance so far this season. It must be because our midfield is so strong and playing so well( not). I think Moyes is scared to play Barkley incase the top 4 try to buy him, so why have him.

All in all the club is becoming a joke under Moyes. Moyes out.

It's not even that were trying to fix the problems.

Moyes I was a massive fan, now I'm not sure if your holding us back. Your pitch side every game you must see what the rest of us do. No wonder crowds are dropping I laugh coz it's your job and you have to turn up and watch.

Sort it out now drastic measures needed, inject some youth in the team, a bit of no fear will do us good.

I don't mind risking losing 1point for 3.

Supporting you and this team at the moment is boring, boring and painful.

Months later, Kenny is starting to crack.

Having spent the best part of 80 million? On players, that are over priced and over hyped.

He's now threatening to have a clear out on players that are not performing.

The clock is ticking, and the executioner is sharpening his blade.

Who did and who didnt put in a good shift against Blackburn? http://www.evertonfc.com/forum/discussion/4458/who-did-and-who-didnt-put-in-a-good-shift-against-blackburn Sun, 22 Jan 2012 09:15:46 +0000 Knoxy2001e 4458@/forum/discussions
There was a lack of coordination, perhaps not too surprising consider half the side is injured. Still, too many passes went astray and too many tackles werent made.

Big Vic is wasted playing from the wing. He hasnt got that kind of pace. He should be in the middle where he can use his strength to bulldoze the defence.

Louis Saha, sorry to say it, has lost his way. I dont think he should even be on the bench. His contract ends this year and its always sad when a players career is over, but I can't see any reason to keep him on.

I know TC got the goal, but it was a goalmouth scramble and didnt need much more than being there and sticking out your leg. I think that TC has been great for Everton, but the end of the season should see him return to Oz.

Drenthe plays with a lot of gusto, and we needed more of that in the team. Strac came on (too late?) and he looked like he wanted to play as well.

Given the options open to Moysey we can only hope that we get our players back on their feet very soon. It seems that the second string really isnt good enough. If we play a fully fit side we can compete. But without the first team we struggle.

Something that Anyone who Hates Kenwright & Co. Needs to Understand http://www.evertonfc.com/forum/discussion/4429/something-that-anyone-who-hates-kenwright-co.-needs-to-understand Sat, 21 Jan 2012 11:00:35 +0000 Jxg 4429@/forum/discussions
We need three things:

- A new stadium (+/- £500m) (please note the +/-. This means it could be more or less. So stop commenting on it.)
- A creative midfielder, a goal machine and a centre back for when Distin goes. (+/- £40m)
- To pay off our £40m of debt.

This will come to around £580m. I can't remember the exact amount Kenwright is asking for, but I believe it was around £130m. This is far too much for a club that needs a serious cash injection.

But there is something that you need to realise.

Kenwright cannot just sell to the first person who walks along and says "I'd like to buy Everton Football Club".

He is looking for someone to take on a club that needs some serious spending done to it, for a stupid price of £130m. But he is also looking for someone who is willing to invest into the club.

Anybody can walk along and offer him some money for the club. Let's say someone did just that, and he sold. First off, we expect to get all sorts of things, but the new chairman holds back on spending. He sells Rodwell for £20m. Fans are angered by this, but expect to see the money put to good use. Instead, later on, he sells Barkley. Then Fellaini. Then Baines. Eventually, all our decent assets are gone. He's pocketing £40m from the club while putting nothing in. The club slips down the table, into the Championship, goes into administration and he sells it to someone else.

Someone has just walked in, sold our assets and left. That is what Kenwright is trying to prevent.

Any serious offers you have heard about for the club are all from people who have the intention of doing something along the lines of this. At the end of the day, they will be looking to make money from their "investment", and when they realise that we aren't going to start making money unless we win things (and that will require money for players, etc.) then they will look to other methods to gain revenue, such as selling our players.

People are not lining up to buy Everton Football Club. There have been two or three enquiries, but Kenwright has rejected them because they aren't right for the club. Do you seriously want us sold to owners like the Venkys?

I want Kenwright out. He isn't investing money anymore. I want someone who will. But until you hear that we've got an offer from either a billionaire Qatari prince who wants to buy a winning team, or a more serious investor, who is willing to invest and then sit back while he makes a return (which isn't unreasonable. If he is willing to put in millions, why should he put in more until he sees the club is making it back?), you should know that any other offers will only hurt the club.

"David Moyes has revealed he once applied to register an Evertonreserve team to play in the Conference in an attempt to enhance the development of the club's young players.

The Chelsea manager, André Villas-Boas, restarted the debate over producing more homegrown talent this week when claiming England should follow Spain's example of allowing top-flight clubs to field second teams in the lower leagues. That avenue, Moyes admitted on Friday, was explored by Everton several years ago but was deemed a non-starter following discussions with the Football Association."
Is it a good idea? What do you think?

"Everton are ready to end their search for a striker by moving for Portuguese U23 international Eder.

Manager David Moyes has moved quickly after personally running the rule over the 6ft 2ins powerhouse during Academica's 2-0 defeat by Vitoria Guimaraes last Sunday.
The 23-year-old Eder, originally from Guinea-Bissau in west Africa, discussed the move on Thursday and missed their training session ahead of last night's match against Uniao de Leiria.Moyes had also used the match as an opportunity to watch Portugal U21 international Adrien Silva who is on loan from Sporting Lisbon. However, Sporting value the playmaker at around £5m and Everton are budgeting for more loans unless they sell again next week.
Moyes will wait until after the weekend before making a decision on American trialist Edson Buddle. The 30-year-old United States international plays for Ingolstadt in the German second division and Moyes said: 'He has been in for a few days and we will have a look at it and talk about it over the weekend. I would like to add if I can. We are certainly short at centre-half right now and I have always said that if we can get a centre-forward in then that would be great."

So.... Tell me what state Everton will be in financially and league standing in 5 years...???

I think this will be fascinating....

I believe if we continue the way we are, my forecast - We haven't bought a player in 2.5 years until Gibson, so think if we only buy 2 more players in the next 5 years?? With our debt, barclays wanting money, ageing stadium, ageing players... Look at this

Barkley SOLD
Rodwell SOLD
Baines SOLD
Fellaini SOLD
Johnny H SOLD
Billy SOLD
Osman Retired
Cahill Retired
Neville Retired
Distin SOLD/Retired
Hibbert Retired
Saha Retired

Think this is enough to scare anyone!!

I dont want bull crap answers like "we will use player money" we haven't had any so far and with an increasing debt we aint likely to get any in the near future...

Cant wait to hear the crap from the board lovers...

Lets have your 5 year plan

After conceiving we'd have to bring in a striker to score goals we've failed to make progress with a player worthy of exciting any fans.

To make things harder we've had to now consider bringing in another defender with injuries at the back, yet we see no progress on signing a CB or being heavily interested in signing one.

Now I know the lack of funds at the club will affect our activity in the window and that's been increasingly clear in the last 2 years with Gibson being our only permanent signing. But the fact that media doesn't even report our interest in players makes me wonder if the search for new players isn't very productive. Most links have been ambitious with no concrete evidence behind then e.g. Defoe, Contaignos and palyuvchenko etc.

I personally think that the board has given us at least 6 millions to spend on new players having spent around a million on gibson and having Buddle on trial I wonder where the money will be spent

Hopefully this Buddle trial his a success and he starts banging them in for us. I hope Gibson can be that midfield maestro we've missed since arteta left and I hope with this what I think 4 mil we have can be spent on onuhua.

Call me ambitious but that's my opinion. I really think with us being half way through the window we've been more successful than the last 2 years but we need to be linked with more players urgently! ]]>
