Kieran Dowell struck twice as Everton Under-21s recorded their second pre-season victory in as many games.
Having defeated Burscough on Wednesday, the young Blues were given a sterner test of their credentials by their Welsh opponents.
It was the hosts who carved out the early chances. Inside the opening 10 minutes Tom Davies bravely blocked from Sean Newton then Blaine Hudson nodded wide.
But just a minute after that header, Dowell opened the scoring. Neat build-up play resulted with Antonee Robinson finding the forward unmarked in the area, and he sent a tidy finish past Cameron Belford.
The Blues added to their lead 10 minutes later, Liam Walsh perfectly weighting a pass for David Henen down the left, and when the Belgian cut it back, there was Joe Williams to side-foot home.
But inside nine minutes, Wrexham were level. First Connor Jennings poked in from a corner then Manny Smith nodded past Mateusz Hewelt.
But with half time approaching, Everton went back in front. After Walsh was sent tumbling trying to break, the loose ball fell to Dowell. He ran at the Wrexham defence, and after siting the bottom corner, arrowed the ball into the net from range.
Unsworth rang the changes on the hour mark, swapping all but two of his line-up but that didn’t halt Everton’s rhythm. Michael Donohue, one of the replacements, went close with a left-foot shot after bursting into the box.
Dragons sub Kayden Jackson dragged a shot wide and Wes york fired over as the home side applied late pressure.
But the Toffees were comfortably able to see the game out, meaning they head to Ireland off the back of a successful week, with two wins from two games.
