It was another big weekend for those Everton players out on loan as two of them kept their League One promotion dreams alive.
Midfielder John Lundstram played another 90 minutes for table-toppers Doncaster as they recorded an important 1-0 victory over Tranmere Rovers.
Rob Jones’ goal at the Keepmoat Stadium keeps Donny two points clear of Bournemouth with a game in hand, but dented the promotion hopes of Rovers, the one-time title challengers who finished the weekend two points outside the play-off places.
Jake Bidwell's Brentford will have had more than half an eye on the result in South Yorkshire, the Bees themselves still harbouring ambitions of automatic promotion.
Bidwell’s stay at Griffin Park was extended until 6 May on Monday – 48 hours after he had helped the Londoners to a 1-1 draw and what could yet prove a precious point at Coventry City.
Indeed, that result keeps Brentford firmly in the mix; trailing third-place Yeovil by the margin of just one goal, Uwe Rosler's side are now five points below Bournemouth with two games in hand.
Everton’s other loanee Magaye Gueye was not involved as relegation-threatened Stade Brest went down to a 4-0 defeat at Ligue 1 rivals SC Bastia.
