News has reached evertonfc.com that Goodison Park (the racehorse) will run again on Saturday.

The novice had an encouraging outing on debut a couple of weeks ago but finished outside the places at Newcastle.

But Goodison is back and races at Redcar at 6.20pm, as part of an eight-strong field over seven furlongs.

So it was job done over in Olomouc, not that it was really ever in doubt of course after that four nil first leg victory! Only one real scare and that was the rather harsh dismissal of Tony Hibbert (or was it Gary Hibbert as our official team sheet stated!!........maybe that means he won’t be banned for our first group...

It’s difficult to know where to start really after last week’s opening day debacle.

As much as I enjoy time off in the summer months I simply can’t wait for the big kick off.

At last we can escape from the meaningless friendlies, which, let's face it, just don't cut the mustard.
