Stories of the Era
David Moyes has yet to win a match against Chelsea during his managerial career at both Preston and Everton, since his first encounter against the London club - a 3-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge in the fifth round of the FA Cup with Preston in March 2002. The run is 21 games without a victory.

The Everton manager has mixed memories at Wembley: in 1987 his missed spot-kick proved crucial as Bristol City lost 5-4 on penalties to Mansfield in the Freight Rover Trophy final; seven years later he was Preston's captain as they lost to Wycombe in the third division play off final, but the recent FA Cup semi final more than made amends.
Guus Hiddink has managed a side once against Everton in a competitive game - the goalless draw last month, although the Dutchman did take charge of PSV Eindhoven in a friendly at Goodison in December 1989.
In addition Hiddink also made one playing appearance against the Toffees during his career - for Nijmegen in a pre-season friendly at Goodison in August 1977.
Like his Everton counterpart, the Chelsea manager has endured varying fortunes at Wembley: his first competitive game there in charge of Holland was a 4-1 loss to England during Euro '96 and a second visit as an international boss, with Russia, ended in a 3-0 defeat in September 2007, with Phil Neville making a substitute appearance for England. His most recent trip saw Arsenal vanquished in the FA Cup semi final last month.
