The School Sport Leadership programme is funded by the Premier League and Professional Footballers' Association that delivers college 'leaders' through sport, in conjunction with City of Liverpool College.

Each programme includes a practical, non-exam course during which assessments are made upon the candidates' abilities to demonstrate their leadership skills in their chosen activity over a certain period of time.

Throughout the course, candidates are given the opportunity to develop their skills in organisation and communication by planning and leading a sporting activity within the community, which in turn allows them to gain confidence.

138 young people are on various qualifications (from entry level 3 qualifications). 93 young people have passed on this course, achieving one or more qualification. This equates to an impressive 70 per cent young leader completion rate.
