The Premier League Schools Tournament has been providing countless youngsters the chance to experience what it feels like to be a top footballer for a number of years now. Created as a way of increasing participation in football, all 20 Barclays Premier League clubs stage their own competition to select a school to represent them at the finals.
Around 800 schools and 6,500 players battle it out each year for the right to play for their local clubs at the event which is hosted at a different Premier League stadium every year.
Everton stage four qualifiers over the month of February with two teams from Liverpool, Sefton, Knowsley and Wirral earning the right to compete at the Club’s state-of-the-art training ground, Finch Farm with an U11 mixed team and U13 Girls side wearing the famous Royal Blue at the finals in April.
The Blues boast proud history in the competition, following victories in 2008 and 2011 at Reading and Bolton respectively.
