Everton in the Community received a welcome boost this week when Spanish ceramic tile manufacturer Porcelanosa donated money to the charity to help continue its vital work in supporting those in need.
With two showrooms in the North West and operating in 143 countries worldwide, Porcelanosa is the leading manufacturer, distributor and retailer of ceramic tiles and Commercial Manager, and Evertonians, Steve Roscoe and Stuart Domigan paid a visit to The People’s Hub recently to find out more about the impact that the Club’s official charity is having in Liverpool 4 and across the Merseyside community.
The Porcelanosa duo had the opportunity to see some of the charity’s programmes in action and meet some of the participants who have benefited from its work, including those who access its weekly coaching sessions for asylum seekers, refugees and individuals battling homelessness.
As a result, the firm has made a cash donation to further develop this programme with some of the funds also being used to continue the charity’s work in raising awareness around knife crime.
Speaking after his visit Steve Roscoe, Commercial Manager Porcelanosa (North West) Ltd, said: “It is great to see the valuable work Everton in the Community do in the Liverpool community. Homelessness is a growing issue across the U.K and very visible in our North West cities.
"In addition to this, knife crime is constantly in the local news and has serious impacts on the lives of young people in our local communities. It makes you even more proud of your football team that they are helping to tackle such issues.”
Michael Salla, Everton in the Community Director for Health and Disability added: “We’re delighted to receive this funding from Porcelanosa, which will make a huge difference to our participants.
"It will help to improve integration, health and wellbeing alongside improving their life chances.”
