The chance to give Andre Gomes a cuddle has proven popular with Evertonians, with vouchers for the Blues star's 'hug-a-thon' in aid of Everton in the Community’s mental health fundraising campaign, The People’s Place now sold out.
The hug-a-thon will take place on Tuesday 22 January from 6.30pm at Goodison Park and will see Gomes on hand to provide hugs for those* who have fallen in love with the Everton midfielder since his arrival in August 2018.
Taking place a day after Blue Monday, calculated as the most depressing day of the day where people commonly feel most low after Christmas. It it is hoped that ‘The People’s Place hug-a-thon’ will help to boost those January blues as hugging has been proved to have many physiological benefits that will positively impact your health and mood.
Andre Gomes said: “The Everton family have made me feel welcome since the day I arrived, and I feel I have already built up a special relationship with the fans and the community. I have enjoyed finding out more about the fantastic work of Everton in the Community and this event will help us raise important funds for The People’s Place, a very important campaign that will help so many local people.”
