Everton in the Community will be hosting a special screening of Creed II next week with all proceeds going towards its mental health campaign The People’s Place.
The exclusive showing will take place at Cineworld Speke on Thursday 6 December at 8pm with tickets priced at £10.
Creed II is the next instalment of the famous Rock Balboa franchise and all funds from the evening will go towards The People’s Place, a project that aims to build and run a mental health facility in the shadows of Goodison Park.
The first movie saw Blues supporter and former world boxing champion Tony Bellew play the role of main protagonist in the film while facing off against the son of famous boxing champion Apollo Creed, played by Michael B Jordan, in the climactic fight scene held at Goodison Park.
Both movies have further Blues connections through the star of the film franchise, Sylvester Stallone, having shown his support for the Club by attending a match at Goodison in 2007.
The second instalment will see Jordan’s character take on Viktor Drago, the son of his father’s killer Ivan, as he looks to honour his father’s memory.
