Staff from Everton in the Community’s Health and Wellbeing arm recently invited youngsters from Cerrigydrudion Juniors Football Club to try out the charity’s new Cruyff Court facility at The People’s Hub on Spellow Lane.
The 35-strong group of 7-11-year-olds travelled the 60 miles from North Wales for a one-hour training session on the recently opened outdoor pitch with EitC coaches before heading to Goodison Park for a stadium tour around one of the country’s most iconic grounds.
All children who attended the day returned home with a miniature football from Everton in the Community. The visit is part of a new package offered by EitC for groups to experience high-quality football training at an excellent facility alongside seeing the historic Goodison Park stadium, learning about Everton Football Club and the importance of football in developing communities.
Michael Salla, EitC’s Director of Health and Sport said: “It was fantastic to welcome such an enthusiastic and keen group to our facilities. We enjoyed having the chance to help them with their football development and give them an insight into Everton Football Club and the important work of EitC.”
