An Everton in the Community fundraiser is keeping the charity as well as family and friends regularly updated by detailing a blog on his training for an epic cycle challenge.

As detailed last week on the Club’s official charity’s website, Steven Willetts is attempting a June challenge that will see him and two friends cross the UK from Land’s End to John O’Groats on a bike.

The brave trio will endeavour to complete the challenge in an impressive 10 days, which will equate to around 90 miles a day with no rest period in between.

Posted last Friday (30 Jan) Steven talks of the enormity of the task finally sinking in. The Preston-born 26-year-old has braved spinning classes, inclement weather, while going onto achieve a personal best in the Cuerden Valley Park Run.

A lifelong Evertonian, Steven’s 838-mile challenge is his first for Everton in the Community and the Club’s official charity speaks with a single voice when encouraging the people of the city and beyond to get behind this remarkable young man’s fundraising exploits.
