Baines Doubtful For Saturday
Moyes concerned after the defender reports a hamstring problem.
David Moyes fears that he could be without the services of Leighton Baines for the weekend trip to Manchester City.
The Blues boss revealed in his post-match press conference that the England full-back felt his hamstring in the latter stages of Wednesday's 1-1 draw with Arsenal.
Moyes said: “I think Leighton Baines has got a bit of a hamstring injury. He felt it in the game and he played on for the last 10 or 15 minutes.
“I thought we put in a lot of energy and a big effort to get that result, so it could take its toll.
“We got Gibbo and Hibbo back, so that’s eased us a little bit.”
Moyes also paid tribute to the performance of Nikica Jelavic after the striker shrugged off a bout of flu to take his place in the Everton starting line-up.
“He hasn’t trained all week because of flu,” added Moyes.
“Yesterday I wasn’t playing him and I only decided this morning when he said that he felt fit enough.
“I was probably expecting to have to take him off after 55 minutes because of the way he had been and that he hadn’t trained since Saturday.
“I thought he was much better tonight – he made a great opportunity in the first half and probably should have scored after beating the boy.
“I thought he held the ball up well and he was more of a handful. I was happier with him tonight than I had been in recent games.”
