Our new amber away kit is a reinvention of the iconic strip of the 1960s, immortalised by true legends of the game like Alan Ball, Howard Kendall and Colin Harvey.
Everton wore an amber kit for the first time in a 2-0 win at Leicester City in September 1967.
And they were, of course, clad in amber as they suffered a narrow defeat to West Brom in the 1968 FA Cup final, having previously worn the strip as they defeated Leicester City and Carlisle United in the earlier rounds of that year's competition.
In 1968/69 the Toffees also wore amber in an FA Cup semi-final defeat to Manchester City.
But it was the following season which will probably be remembered most fondly, with the amber strip contributing to a golden campaign.
Everton wore that particular shade in away wins at Ipswich Town, Coventry City, West Ham United, Burnley and Sheffield Wednesday as they marched triumphantly towards league title glory.
Further success in amber followed in the 1970 Charity Shield as Chelsea were defeated and then, in 1971, the away kit was given a rare Goodison Park airing.
Resplendent in amber after an unexpected clash of kits with Colchester United, Everton smashed in five goals in an FA Cup quarter-final clash.
Joe Royle, Jimmy Husband, Kendall (2) and Ball were all on target that day.
The amber kit later reappeared just after the turn of the millennium, and below are some of its more memorable recent outings...
Portsmouth 1-2 Everton, December 2003.
The only away win in the last season Everton wore amber shirts. After trailing 1-0 the Blues were 2-1 up by half-time thanks to goals from Lee Carsley and Wayne Rooney.
West Ham 0-2 Everton, March 2001.
Tony Hibbert's debut. Everton triumphed thanks to a David Unsworth penalty and a goal from Niclas Alexandersson.
Coventry City 1-3 Everton, January 2001.
A three-goal burst in the opening 30 minutes from Scot Gemmill, Danny Cadamarteri and Kevin Campbell secured an easy win.
