Icelandic midfielder Bjarni Vidarsson rose through the Everton ranks before scoring his first professional goal while on loan at Bournemouth. His Toffees debut came against AZ Alkmaar in December 2007 when he came on as a second-half substitute. He joined Dutch club Twente on loan in January 2008 but his Everton contract wasn't renewed that summer.
Jose Baxter joined Everton's academy at the age of 6 and made his first team debut at the age of 16. When he came on as a substitute against Blackburn in the first game of the 2008/09 season Baxter succeeded James Vaughan as the club's youngest ever player. He subsequently became the youngest player to start a game at West Brom the following week.
