Two Everton defenders have been nominated for prestigious awards.

Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman are up for prizes in two separate awards ceremonies.

Baines will battle it out against the likes of Pepe Reina and Wayne Rooney for the title of North West player of the year, which is voted for by supporters and handed out at this year’s MBNA North West Football Awards which take place on October.

If you want to vote for Baines, who had a magnificent season for Everton and narrowly missed out on the England World Cup squad, head to www.nwfootballawards.co.uk, which has full details of the shortlist.

Coleman has been nominated in the Under 21 International Player of the Year category at the FAI's International Football Awards which take place in Dublin on 8 August.

As well as being a regular for the Irish Under-21s, Coleman made his breakthrough for Everton and helped Blackpool to promotion last season.
