LAMBERT HOPES FOR GOOD WORKOUT

Norwich City boss Paul Lambert is hoping his players get a good work out against Everton.

The Blues head to Carrow Road for their fifth pre-season friendly on Saturday and the Canaries' boss is hoping the match will assist in their last push to raise match fitness ahead of their Championship opener against Watford next Friday.

"Everton are a top-class side with some very talented players," said Lambert. “David Moyes has a superb squad there and built an excellent squad.

"The game for us will be another tough examination, following the games against Newcastle last weekend and Lincoln City on Wednesday night.”

The Canaries have had mixed fortunes in their 2010 pre-season campaign, having recorded two wins, one defeat and two goalless draws.

But results aside, Lambert insists they will treat the game as their last opportunity to boost their fitness levels as the season kick-off draws closer.

He added: "We are very close now to the start of the new league season and this is the last friendly, so it's an exciting time - but most importantly it’s about fitness and raising performance levels."
