RESERVE LEAGUE REVAMP

Everton Reserves will face new competition in the Barclays Premier Reserve league this season after a revamped format was introduced.

The fixtures for the 2010/11 season have recently been revealed and under a new structure, with the league being sub-divided into three divisions based on geographical locations.

The Blues will play in Northern Group B, alongside Blackburn Rovers, Blackpool, Liverpool and Sunderland.

Everton will play a total of 19 games next term - playing their opponents in Northern Group B both home and away, and each team from the other two divisions once.

The winners of the Northern groups will then play off at the end of the season to determine the Northern League winners.

The new format means Everton have been dealt away trips to both Chelsea and Arsenal, with the trip to west London their first outing of the new term at Stamford Bridge on 23 August.

The Blues second string, who play their home games at Widnes' Halton Stadium, will play Wolves in their first home game on 31 August.

The mini-derby home clash with Liverpool will be held on Tuesday 23 November, while the away derby at Tranmere Rovers' Prenton Park will take place in February.

The Blues will also travel to Newcastle, Aston Villa and Manchester City this season.
