Dan Gosling says that, despite putting five goals past Hull last weekend, the Everton squad are focussed on improving their strike-rate at Birmingham.
The Blues travel to St Andrews on Saturday to face Alex McLeish's side for the third time this season still searching for a victory against the Midlanders.
The Premier League fixture ended in a 1-1 draw in December, while Birmingham went on to knock Everton out of the FA Cup at Goodison the following month.
Everton go into the match in buoyant mood after their 5-1 mauling of The Tigers. But Gosling has revealed the players want to show an even sharper cutting edge against a defensively resolute Birmingham side.
"The Hull performance was great from the whole team. We needed the goals but we could have had 10 when we all watched it back.
"We weren't happy with the chances we missed in that game but to get five passed any team in the Premier League is a great achievement," Gosling told evertonTV.
"Hopefully when the chances come now we will get the goals and keep winning games as everyone here strives to be better."
But the challenge of scoring against Birmingham is not something Gosling and his teammates are taking lightly.
He continued: "Birmingham have been really good this season and they are always good at home. They have got a good defensive record so it will be a tough game.
"We need the three points now though so it is going to be a good test for us but I am sure we will come out on top."
