James Vaughan
James Vaughan has signed for Leicester City on loan.
The Everton striker, 21, joins the Championship promotion chasers on an initial one-month deal.
Vaughan has made 10 appearances for the Toffees this season, scoring in games against Burnley and Carlisle United. Earlier this season he had a loan spell at Derby cut short by injury after just two appearances.
The Rams were keen to have Vaughan back after he returned to full fitness but their East Midlands rivals have now acquired the services of the England Under-21 man.
James Vaughan in training with Leicester
Leicester are currently in fifth place in the Championship, meaning they occupy a play-off berth.
And Vaughan could be part of Nigel Pearson's squad for the game against Cardiff on Saturday, with the Welsh outfit just two points behind Leicester.
Foxes chairman Milan Mandaric hopes Vaughan can help provide firepower in the absence of injured forward Matty Fryatt.
"It was unfortunate to lose Matty Fryatt but James is a proper player," he said. "It wasn't simple. The player was wanted by other teams.
"I have a good relationship with the Everton chairman and I said to him that my manager would like the player and your manager wants him to get additional experience so let's close the deal."

Iam totally confused, james vaughan is brilliant, exciting fast and furious, we all love landon donovon but james really does deserve the special and famous number 9 shirt. He is brilliant but he needs to be first choice up front to give him the confidence to show his form every game. Teams do fear him.We love number 14 VAUGHAN. good luck lad come back real soon.

Can not understand this at all. The Yak and Victor are good players but who has scored goals for us - James Vauaghan. Who can change a game when he comes on - James Vaughan. Who is the one player with pace and agreession- James Vauaghan. Why is this lad not given a fair run out in the first team? Mr Moyes can you please explain to me why you have let him go. Vaughny Good luck and come back soon.

This does not make me happy. I'm looking forward to Billy Davies bringing Forest up to the Prem next season and #5 Leicester adding Vaughan to their squad is going to make the task that little bit harder cus he's a hell of a player when he's fit. Recall him Moyes, you need him more than Forest need the Foxes having him.

Strange decision, with Saha / Cahill injured and Donovan returning to the USA, think it leaves us a bit light of forward options. If i was Dr Frankenstien, i would like to fuse one player out of Yak & Vaughan (Yaks skill with Vaughans pace & workrate ) !!

I really don't understand this. James has shown consistently that he can change games when given the chance. The idea that loaning him out would improve his fitness would be fine if he had no chance of getting a game with the blues. If anyone needs to get match fit it's the Yak and, given the attitude we've seen from Victor in recent games, we would be better giving either of these two a shock by putting them on the loan list. James; problem is avoiding injury, not keeping fit. I hope he comes back to us in the condition he left but I fear we may have seen the last of him in a blue shirt.

Good luck James Vaughan! It's the right move. Vaughany has plenty of ability -pace, strength, commitment and a good engine. But he needs regular first team football to demonstrate whether his obvious potential can become proven ability - and that means scoring goals regularly. A loan spell will give some idea as to whether he really can become a quality Premier striker.

I don't understand this, we are giving James less 1st team opportunities than most of the other youngsters, he seems to be one of the most promising. Why not keep him around the first team and loan him out in the summer, to a good league abroad and send a coach with him, to keep an eye on his development. There are good leagues available. The MLS is only breaking for the WC group stage. It wasn't long ago Moyes was trying to bring an MLS youngster in from the second flight! Then there's the Asian or Aussie leagues. They must be reasonable by now.

Never like to see a blue playing any where other than in an Everton shirt , but this should help James get sharp and match fit. Hope to see you back in month helping us chase down Europe - I still think a fit Vaughan is our brightest striking hope of the future - can't believe he's still only 21! has someone stopped counting his birthdays?

Still think this is a strange one, i really like vaughan, and think he is one player who deserved a decent run of games. with Saha now injured, the Yak and Anichebe not firing on all cylinders, what happens if one (or god forbid both) of them get injured! why send Vaughan out on loan?
